Skopelos (Greek: Σκόπελος) is a Greek island at the western Aegean Sea. Skopelos is one of several islands which comprise the Northern Sporades island group.
Filled with dense forests covering almost 80% of its area, it is considered the greenest island of the Aegean.
It has an area of approximately  9 6 sq. km and perimeter 67 km.It has two mountains Palouki ( 565 m height ) and Delfi ( 680 m height ).
Skopelos town has a traditional character with distinctive architecture and beautiful cobbled streets. It has been declared a traditional settlement.
Chora and the island in general are full of traditional churches, chapels and monasteries. There are 24 monasteries.
